Greetings!
My name is Stephanie Anne Harper, I was born in Portland, Oregon. There I spent many days with my grandmother, who would spark my love of creation and design that would follow me through my education and career. During my teens I was blessed with many fantastic art teachers, who helped me prosper with my arts. Upon graduation of High School, I moved to Hawaii to pursue higher education, and was exposed to Eastern, Polynesian, and strong Oceanic Arts. The wonder of the islands inspired my artwork during my time there. To complete my education, I relocated to Arizona and studied at Arizona State University's, Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. There I studied under a very strong faculty and staff. My work became more serious and interpersonal. I discovered a drive to create and exhibit my work that I had previously been missing.
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Fine Art with an emphasis in Painting from ASU in May of 2014. Subsequently, I accepted a position at Monart, School of Art in Houston, TX. I took this opportunity to gain experience and direction for my career. As an instructor, I learned the value of self direction and how truly powerful self motivation can be. My students flourished as I was allowed to share my passions with the next generation of students.
Upon leaving Monart, I secured a position at Public Imagery and found my passion for functional art. As a Design Project Manager, I was responsible for logistics, design, and customer interactions. I honed my skills in the Adobe Suite and reading and understanding large floor plans and elevations. I found I was most excited about creating new, and innovative art pieces for clients, with all of their needs in mind. The challenges of creating a piece of decor for a location, with structural, aesthetic and safety in mind were really intriguing for me. I was often drawn into creating innovative solutions for the clientele. During this time I also learned the value of a team, and supporting my peers.
In November of 2015, I was offered a position at a start up Calibration Engineering, Research and Development Company, in Houston, TX. In this position, I learned how to establish a company from ground up. I completed everything from Creating a LLC, establishing and maintaining both a Customer Resource Management program and accounting system. Maintaining a good standing with customers, and managing my time, to ensure all purchasing was completed in a timely manner. Maintaining a positive reputation, branding, and marketing in both print and social media were paramount for our business.
